Ugolini dispenser bowls now in Tritan™ Renew

Technical Innovation

MILAN, October 13, 2025 —Ugolini, a leading Italian manufacturer of countertop equipment for the catering and hospitality sectors, is updating the technical specifications of its products by integrating Tritan™ Renew, a copolyester developed by Eastman that incorporates traceable recycled material.

The company, which has been using traditional Tritan since 2019 in compliance with European regulations regarding the absence of BPA (Bisphenol A) in food contact materials, is now making a technological transition to Tritan™ Renew to meet current directives on material traceability and the circular economy.

“We are thrilled to offer a new version of a material in which we already place our full trust,” says Marco Ugolini. “With Tritan™ Renew, we maintain the exact same mechanical and safety performance, while simultaneously introducing a supply chain based on the molecular recovery of polymers.”

Tritan™ Renew is made with certified recycled content*, thanks to the molecular recycling technology developed by Eastman. This process significantly reduces the use of fossil resources and greenhouse gas emissions without compromising performance, safety, and durability.

For Ugolini, the choice of material is crucial: the containers used for the preparation and distribution of beverages must guarantee high standards of food-grade suitability, hygiene, and chemical and thermal resistance, as well as withstand intensive washing cycles. Tritan™ Renew perfectly meets these needs, while also offering a BPA-free solution that is increasingly demanded by international markets.

“We are proud to collaborate with Ugolini in the implementation of materials equipped with measurable and verifiable certifications,” states Paolo Franco, Business Development Manager at Eastman. “With Tritan™ Renew, the company offers a product that complies with the strictest safety standards and is technologically integrated into the documented polymer recovery cycle.”

The collaboration between Ugolini and Eastman has found a concrete expression in the development of the mold for the ICON 3 model, characterized by a complex technical bowl design. The joint experience of the teams enabled the creation of a mold perfectly suited for processing Tritan™ Renew, maintaining the mechanical and visual performance of the final product unaltered.

This synergy of skills has accompanied the evolution of Ugolini equipment, first with the adoption of Tritan and now with the transition to Tritan™ Renew, consolidating the company’s commitment to a more responsible and future-oriented production model.
